The various levels of government in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan have been fairly proactive in dealing with the issue of shoreline erosion and riparian rights. Unlike Manitoba governments within these provinces have produced booklets to assist the lake or river or coast property owner in dealing with the complex issue of riparian rights and shoreline protection. In addition, various other organization in the provinces have also produced informative publications
